From metallics to powder pastels and bold brights, we look to the runway for inspiration to fill our world (and wardrobe) with new trends this season.
We know that neutrals are safe but bright separates are the perfect way to reinvent your wardrobe for the warmer months so don’t be afraid to take the risk. The primary colours are the way forward this season and we love that they are easily paired simple separates. When opting for brights keep your silhouettes sleek as seen on the SS 2014 runway with a boxy tee from Tommy Hilfiger or a textured midi dress by Sacai.
Ice-cream shades are perfect if you want to add colour into your looks in a softer, more feminine way as seen by Prabal Gurung in the form of a mid-length pencil skirt and sleek sleeveless top to match – you can even add a matching pastel lip for impact! A textured or crocheted top, as seen by Just Cavalli, adds pastel colour in a more subtle way and can be easily paired with jeans or a white pleated skirt.
Metallic is the braver, and slightly sexier, alternative to adding colour into your summer looks. No matter what colour the shine may be metallics will always add a sense of luxury and sophistication. The best way to wear metallics is to pair them with casual separates so as not to come on too strong but if head-to-toe metallic is your thing make sure the silhouettes are simple such as the Diane Von Furstenberg dress or a simple biker jacket by Roberto Cavalli.
