Shop The Trend: Texture Play

We’re big on texture!

If you already have already bought the November issue, you would have noticed that our fashion segments feature everything from feathers to straw and even fringe.

We thought we'd let you in a little on the trend by showing you how you can rock it in a more casual way – with this played down approach, plastic is sitting high up on our radar.

Fashion Director Tips:

  • Plastic and rubber textures are easy to wipe clean
  • Metallics transition easily from day to night
  • Performance fabrics aren’t just sporty, but urban cool,
  • Details like gold chains and gold logos are great for added opulence.

Sporty Texture: Don’t shy away from solid blocks of colour. Colour enhances the texture of an item – and bright metallics come just in time for festive party dressing.

See- through: Remember the other day when Rihanna wore plastic? Locally, look to Kuena Moshoeshe, who recently won David Tlale’s The Intern. Her winning collection (some of which is featured in the October issue) features plastic pieces from skirts to coats with a playful twist.
