The bad news: We have to wait until 2019.
The rollout of Prince's vault of unreleased music continues. Following the official release of his stellar recording of "Nothing Compares 2 U"—which the musician originally wrote for The Family before it became the breakthrough hit for Irish singer Sinead O'Connor—we'll soon get brand-new recordings from the late musician, who died in 2016.
Rolling Stone reports that Prince's estate will release a new Prince record exclusively through Tidal in 2019. While there's no release date or title yet, the album will consist of new material from the musician's vault.
After Tidal's two-week window of exclusivity, according to Rolling Stone, "the Prince estate will handle the global physical release of the collection." That means you can buy the physical copy of the album or—fingers crossed—it'll be available though iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.
