Meghan Markle has spent the last year silently enduring nasty stories in the British tabloids about her family, the feuds she has allegedly "created" in the royal family, and sources claiming she's a demanding manager simply because she's eager to work hard and early. In public, she's said nothing, save one statement about her father Thomas Markle not attending her wedding. In private, she's pretty fed up with maintaining a diplomatic silence, Us Weekly reports.
“It’s just been frustrating and stressful to have no voice,” a royal insider told Us. “She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling. She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her. She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.” (Meghan deleted her Instagram and all her personal social media accountsback in January ahead of her wedding.)
The outlet additionally reported that Thomas Markle has burned his bridge with Meghan for good. Meghan, a source close to her told the outlet, "completely cut" off Thomas and has no plans to change that any time soon.
Earlier this month, Vanity Fair reported that the way Meghan had been coping with the negative stories written about her was to avoid reading them. “She feels to a degree the British press is out to get her and while she’s aware of the news and what’s going on, she tries her best not to read all the stories about her," a source told Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl.
