24 young women representing 19 different countries across the world gathered in Warsaw, Poland, this past Saturday to compete for the first ever title of Miss Wheelchair World.
The pageant, organised by the Only One foundation, seeks to “change the image of women in wheelchairs so they would not be judged solely by this attribute".
Lebohang Monyatsi, the first South African woman in a wheelchair to be a runway model, represented South Africa at the Miss Wheelchair awards and won the First Princess title at the pageant. Adriana Zawadzinska from Poland is the second runner-up and 23-year-old psychology student from Belarus, Aleksandra Chichikova, was chosen as the overall winner.
This is a huge stride for Lebohang, who has previously represented South Africa abroad for wheelchair basketball.
To 'The Rolling Goddess', we are super proud you!
