Nomzamo Mbatha has come a long way since we first saw her join the MTV VJ search competition in 2012, although she didn't win, she made a mark in the industry regardless.

Fast forward to 2016 and she is slaying on multiple fronts. She is an actress, presenter, personality, PUMA ambassador as well as the face  Neutrogena, just to name a few. We caught up with her to chat the year that was 2016.

If you could describe your 2016 in a brief sentence, what would it be?

I did it all, I saw it all.

What are you most grateful for this year?

The amount of traveling that I did, and how I got to see the world. I've always dreamt of living at the airport just so I could watch people come and go. Today I am one of those people... 2016 really did that for me.

Your biggest career highlight?

Hosting the MTV Africa Music Awards, with more than 30million people around the world watching; it was definitely a career highlight for me.

Who have you worked with this year that deserves a major shout out?

Probably my publicity team, Brand 360, who have helped me catapult my career in the direction that I want it to go. They push but they get the job done each time! They hardly get the recognition they deserve.

What is your one big 2016 regret?

Not going back to school to finish my degree.

What are your holiday plans?

Initially, I REALLY wanted to go to Vietnam but I'm now fixing both my mother's house and grandmother's house. So I've chosen to prioritize that. Vietnam and Cambodia will have to be next year, February probably. However, I am making plans with my girls for a getaway for New Years celebrations.

  • A swimsuit that I bought at a boutique in Miami in Jan!

Lastly, what is your mantra going to be for 2017?

Put yourself first more, baby girl.
