Veuve Clicquot ELLE Boss 2017 Awards: A Celebration of Formidable Female Bosses

On Thursday the 9th the Ferrari showroom in Bryanston set the scene for a glamorous celebratory evening of the much-anticipated Veuve Clicquot ELLE Boss 2017 Awards, in association with Old Mutual Corporate.

For the past three years, the awards have been honouring game-changers and trailblazers in the corporate and entrepreneurship sectors, and this year’s selection of extraordinary women was no exception.

Our host for the evening, Nomzamo Mbatha, kept everyone entertained with her wit and charm, while glasses of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label were served throughout the evening. Guests were also treated to a delectable three-course meal by Word Of Mouth caterers. Special guests included the French Ambassador to South Africa, His Excellency Christophe Farnaud, Global Marketing Director for Veuve Clicquot Chloe Stefani, GM of Old Mutual Corporate Glynis Pattison and last year’s winner Linda Mabhena-Olagunju.

This year’s awards were presided over by an esteemed panel of judges that included; Khanyi Dhlomo  (founder and CEO of Ndalo Media and Publisher of ELLE South Africa), Zizipho Nyanga (CEO of Old Mutual’s Masizane Fund), Dr Lulu Gwagwa (CEO of Lereko Investments), Chichi Maponya (CEO of Maponya Group), Nunu Ntshingila (Regional Director of Facebook Africa), Emy Casaletti-Bwalya (CEO of Optimize Strategic Agency), Sindi Mabaso-Koyana (Executive Chairperson of AIH), Yolanda Miya (MD of Financing and Solutions at Deutsche Bank SA) and Honey Mamabolo  (CEO of Thebe Unico).

5fm Station Manager Justine Cullinan was announced as the winner in the corporate category, while Amanda Dambuza came out tops in the entrepreneurship category and was subsequently named the overall winner of the awards. The other shortlisted finalists were Lindiwe Shibambo (founder and MD of Maid4u), Kate Moodley (Franchise Director of Discovery Holdings), Nomonde White (Head of Technology at Barclays Africa Regional Management) and Veronica Motloutsi (Executive Head of Commercial Operations for International Markets at Vodacom).

Dambuzo and her business will be receiving press coverage across ELLE South Africa’s print and digital platforms. Next year, she will be flown to visit the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Maison in Reims, France, the home of Champagne.
