The Valentino Resort 2013 collection that we were fortunate enough to lay eyes on sent most of the ELLE team into frenzy. We absolutely, whole-heartedly obsess over this collection and want every piece to come live with us in our homes. The collection bursts with colour, lace and beading. Valentino dipped each creation in a pot of candy colours and then added embellishment and detail to make each and every look breathtakingly beautiful and completely feminine.

It’s a little ‘60s and a little retro but at the same time the collection is demur in its silhouettes and we absolutely love the balance. Here’s what was overheard in the fashion closet:

Asanda ‘I love the femininity, lace and collar detail as well as the accessibility of the collection, it’s as beautiful as it is wearable.’

Tarryn: ‘ All I can say is wow; the collection oozes femininity and grace and is just simply pretty. I absolutely adore the collared dresses, kitten heels and the Valentino signature lace. My favourite look has got to be the hot pink tail back floor length strapless dress, because the colour is unexpected and the simple shape and silhouette makes me happy.
