It’s out – we welcomed our new online intern Tayba to the team yesterday. She’s mad about online, has her finger on the right buttons and can even rap – yes, you read right! Introducing online-savvy and newest addition to the ELLE’s belles, Tayba…

What were you doing before joining us online at ELLE?
I was doing my best. Interning at Theory in New York City and a bit of acting and commercial work in Cape Town.

Why online?
I love the speed, convenience and accessibility of the web.

What did you wear on your first day on the job?
A Country Road jacket from Woolworths, a black silk top from Theory, black J. Brand pants and pink and gold pumps from L.F (L.F is my favourite store in New York).

Current obsession?
Matte nail polish. I’m obsessed with matte colours and it’s something different and interesting. Can’t wait to get my hands on Tip Top Nails in Matt-nificent, R39.99 exclusive to Clicks

What are you loving in the June issue of ELLE and why?

‘Solitary Confinement’ by Aisha Redpath Treppo on page 126 of the June issue was one of many highlights for me. It’s a very real issue, finding balance between being alone as apposed to being lonely and the effects of social media on real social interaction. A thought-provoking piece that I really enjoyed.

Describe your style?
I don’t think I have a style per se, but the great thing about fashion is that it’s a living declaration of self, so I tend to dress for the mood I’m in. But I definitely choose quality products that will last a long time.

What’s on your wish list for winter?
A black Givenchy Antigona tote bag. A girl can dream, no?

I made a rap video with my best friend, aged nine. It’s not on YouTube, thank goodness!

The Economist  – it’s a brilliant overview of politics, economic, science and technology, as well debates and comments from the public. I feel it’s good to keep abreast with global issues, as nothing happens in isolation.

The Fancy – This site is amazing! Every day they upload cool fashion, living and art products. They have really got some amazing stuff on here.

And last but not least there’s Twitter – it’s the new Facebook.
