In some recent collaborations and initiatives, fashion's focusing on what's important. Here are two style missions on our radar.
Mimco X EFI
Accessories brand Mimco has teamed up with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), a group that connects artisans from the developing world to the international value chain of fashion, creating value for them with a direct impact on their lives and using fashion as a vehicle for development.
Their latest collection includes the Indi-go-go Hip bag (above) and the Indi-Go-Go Pouch, two beautiful and wearable silhouettes crafted from hand dyed, super soft goat's leather by skilled Kenyan artisans who were able to maintain some sense of stability in Kenya's currently unstable socio-political climate thanks to the program.
Louis Vuitton's support of UNICEF continues with the announcement of a new set of limited edition beautiful ribbon bracelets with an LV locket on. At R3800, 40% goes to UNICEF (R1520) to aid their support of Syrian refugees. The collaboration will be stocked in Johannesburg.
