The heat is on (still) and the pressure is not letting up! We issued the super seven finalists for ELLE’s Style Reporter in association with BlackBerry® with their last challenge on 19 October and gave them six days to deliver.

Here’s what we asked them to deliver by 5pm yesterday:

(1) ‘You are out on the street, inspiration is everywhere, but what, of all the competing ideas, do you connect with the most strongly? What touches you directly and why? Connect the dots to show how that trend, that look, began and show us why it has personal significance for you.

We’re not looking for something that is a current look according to fashion opinion makers. We want to know what gets you excited and to see how you convey that excitement. Can you make the case for why this particular look or cultural heritage is important to you and back it up with an interesting historical angle? Show us what moves you personally – with pictures and comments – and how you connect that idea with what you see on the streets.’

(2) You can blog but can you tweet? So you’ve received your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9790 smartphone, now show us what you’ve got. Part of the challenge is to live tweet from the street and keep us in the fashion loop. Please use #StyleReporter and @message @ELLEmagazineSA.

And this is what they delivered as they live tweeted their way through the challenge. Since we asked our finalists to get personal, it’s only fitting that we do too! Each of the seven entries moved us in one way or another – and take it from us, to do this in one post is indeed a challenge. But, super seven, you succeeded!

Looking for synonyms with the most syllables doesn't make a good writer. With that said, Sandisiwe Pityi gets my vote. She speaks the language of the audience in a balanced narrative. Most particularly my mom, love the reference that he makes to how these women through it all they never compromised their style. And well just how powerful is the concept of "The invincible war". Because your style, what you chose to wear, the way you represent your self. I'm talking about people who keep it true to who they are, people who are not confined to fitting in, those who communicate a message. Not just the "so stylish people" as defined. But those who despite what ever struggles they go through, still wakes up the following day, put on what might be only items they have, with hope and faith of a better day. To me those people are the soldiers to this Invincible War.
