If you prefer kicks to heels, you’re going to want to read this.
The Index is an all new unisex sneaker destination, introduced by Spree this week. Featuring exclusive offers and all your favourite brands, the Index is about to make getting your sneaker fix a whole lot more fun.
This isn’t your average sneaker department though. It’s filled with hand-picked sneaker styles and activewear for fans of adidas, Reebok, Converse, FILA, PUMA, New Balance and Vans. “Streetwear is no longer a subculture,” said Kim Hawkins, Head of Brand Marketing for Spree of their new department. “Sneakers are for everyone and the rise in popularity was impossible for us to ignore.”
Made for city pavements instead of stadium tracks, the sneaker has gone from functional basic to cultural phenomenon to wardrobe essential, and they fit right into fashion’s current love affair with streetwear influenced casuals. If you’re one of the lucky ones with a casual work dress code, they come to the office with you too, so sneakers have pretty much taken over our lives – we’re not mad about it.
