SPOTTED AT SA FASHION WEEK

Naturally, we attend fashion week to see what we can look forward to from South Africa’s designers, but we are just as inspired by the fashion off the runway. Here are some of our favourite looks spotted at SA Fashion Week on the weekend. If these fashionistas are anything to go by, colour is definitely it.

ACID YELLOW SHON BRIGHTLY EVEN AFTER THE SUN WENT DOWN

Robyn Cooke (left) of Style Guide CT (pictured here with Randall Abrahams) embraced the trend and matched a yellow cardigan with an equally yellow necklace from Funduzi by Craig Jacobs. Fashion stylist Kirsty Stoltz and Katherine, Miss Edgars Savoir (right) both chose acid yellow tops.

Tinyiko (left) and Palesa (right) both embraced two trends with one item: turbans and bright yellow, and yellow and prints.

COLOUR-BLOCKING MANIA

ELLE’s Cheska Liackman, Kirsty Stolz and Katherine (left) looked terrific in their primary colours, and Funeka (right) offset her monochrome look with a bright blazer.

Karen (left) looked fabulous in blue and green, and her friend’s red shoes create that extra pop! Love Kelly’s (right) pleated dress.

Siya looked great in her color blocking ensemble. Taugheedah from Seventeen looked bright and beautiful in this top.

DOTTY FOR ASANDA

Everyone in the ELLE office envies our fashion editor, Asanda Sizani, in her vintage Lanvin polka-dot suit, and we don’t mind her Prada-inspired striped dress either.

INSPIRED BY JIL SANDER

Cara (left) loved the recent Jil Sander spring/summer collection so much that she made this skirt herself. Together with Taryn, she proved that white T-shirts are the way to go this summer.

TERRIFIC TURBANS

Ziyanda (left) and Nicole (right) both chose a head-turning turban.
