This week Jockey and David Tlale launched Live Fierce by David Tlale.
ELLE attended the launch and chatted to Riky Rick about his role as brand ambassador in the cold campaign.
How did you become a brand ambassador for David Tlale?
I’ve been a free agent in terms of clothing endorsements because I always wanted to do something with a good local brand. A brand that represents South African people. We’ve done stuff with international brands but it didn’t really follow through to the people that I’m trying to represent. So when it became time to work with David, it was a perfect match with exactly where I am trying to go in the future and where I am right now.
What do you think of the deigns that he’s come up with for Jockey?
It’s amazing. You know when it comes to underwear people want a little bit of sensibility but also a little bit of flair. I like how they’ve combined a nice chilled design but with a little bit of flair on the bands. That’s really dope.
What’s your favourite piece in the collection?
I don’t know what they call them but the women’s piece that I call the ‘kitchen shorts’. I call them ‘making eggs’ shorts. I don’t know what you guys call them!
