South African twitter is so not okay with it
Earlier today Rachel Dolezal tweeted that she is coming SA where she will be a special guest at a talk on race in South Africa:
She began trending on Twitter and soon many people were voicing their outrage. Rachel sparked controversy when she claimed to be a 'black' when in fact she is 'white'. She was said to have committed fraud and cultural appropriation through her false claims about her heritage. Dolezal has publicly stated that she was born white but still identifies herself as black.
The reason for choosing Dolezal as the guest speaker is not yet clear but here are some of the reactions on her latest travel plans:
Rachel Dolezal...trust me on this.
Now is NOT the time.
South Africa is NOT the place. @USEmbassySA please advise her accordingly. ?
