We are lucky to have fashionable friends in the right places! Cape Town blogger Cheralee Lyle of Miss Lyle Style jetted off to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and sent us snaps to prove it! Let the pavement be your catwalk and take a long, good look at our favourite streetstyle looks from NYFW. On our radar? Floating maxis, patterns and, yes, long, tanned limbs were also spotted. The key accessory to any fashion week remains the oversized sunnies. Here are looks we love!

Sunday saw our very own David Tlale presenting his designs in the Big Apple, making him the first South African designer to have a standalone show at NYFW. David, we are proud indeed! Tlale’s show slotted in right after American designer Zac Posen and on the same day as Diane von Furstenburg and Yohji Yamamoto. (He really is up there with the big cats.) Cheralee was hot on David’s heels and attended the presentation-style show. She says:

‘David Tlale showed his new collection, Transcendence, to a packed room. His collection, made up of feminine silhouettes, plunging necklines and immaculate embellishments and detail, definitely struck the right cord. Dramatic feathers, intricate beading and bright earthy colours made for a chic and elegant range of men and womenswear. Tlale said the collection celebrates the spirit we share beyond nuances of culture, history and geography. The show was testament to his great craftsmanship.’
