Michael Kors’ new scent brought the heat last night at the South African launch of the brand’s Sexy Ruby fragrance held at MESH Club in Rosebank.
“Sexy” was the word of the night at the Sexy Ruby fragrance launch. The dress code called for chic black with a sparkle of red that perfectly fit MESH’s dark and sultry look for the event.
Out to celebrate the SA launch of the fragrance were guests Melody Molale, Aisha Baker-Parnell and Sarah Langa-MacKay among others who stunned in their ensembles to have the first whiff of this sinfully sultry fragrance at this exclusive event. Their celebrity counterparts who had attended the UK launch in London on the 21st of September included actresses Naomi Harris and Serayah McNeill as well as models Portia Freeman and Erin O’Connor.
Sexy Ruby entered the South African market with a completely multi-sensorial event where the face of the fragrance, Edita Vilkeviciute, a longtime friend of Kors, was introduced in a video for the scent’s campaign shown to guests in a cosy cinema-style viewing room where pink popcorn and champagne were served. Dinner followed with meals inspired by elements of the scent, the perfect accompaniment to the sensual music in the background which made one feel as though they too were sinfully indulging in the night.
Inspired by “women who know what they want, and go after it”, according to Kors himself. The scent is a riveting combination of fruity raspberry and apricot fused with notes of rose petal and Indian jasmine sambac which create a sweet yet exotic scent that thrills.
