The second night of MBFWCT had its highs and lows – which, as you seasoned fashion weekers will know is nothing unusual. Here are the moments that made it memorable for me.

Leigh Schubert showed us a contemporary resort collection in an entire spectrum of pinks and bright orange with nude and neon accents. Despite the very loud colour and odd involvement of ice cream, there were some very clever designs thrown into the mix including an unusually flattering jumpsuit – I especially liked the square fold shoulders and a pleated wrap dress that tied at the front, as well as a very modern maxi dress that perfectly combined evening wear with sportswear – totally on my radar right now!

The Habits Show was almost a round up of summer trends – one collection showed twenties-inspired pieces, white on white, a few fifties looks, painterly floral prints, see through plastic pieces, collars and geometric prints. The collection felt very familiar – here are the pieces I can’t wait to shoot:

The black beaded drop waist dress

The white cotton organza skirt with bright pink lining

The pleated floral chiffon top and skirt

The plastic biker jacket

The red striped maxi dress

Gavin Rajah once again put on a spectacular show. What I most enjoy about Gavin is his ability to make me fall for styling I intrinsically don’t enjoy. I surprised myself last night, nodding in approval at an embellished skirt suit consisting of a cape and pencil skirt covered in long strands of beads, I also thoroughly appreciated the pairing of lace and sportswear – which was unexpected of Mr Rajah. It was the colouring that really truly stole my heart however, with classic evening wear made modern in coral, vivid mint and canary yellow. I am totally in love with the yellow peplum sleeve coat, bra top and pencil skirt. It was my favourite look of the night.

Pippa J on 7/27/2012: That jumpsuit is absolutely gorgeous - it just looks so effortless to wear and exudes style....am defs keeping an eye out for that to purchase. Loving the HABITS maxi dress too... can picture floating around in that on a hot summer's day.
