Matt Damon made headlines last week for the tone-deaf remarks about sexual misconduct he gave to ABC News. Minnie Driver and Alyssa Milano both tried to help Damon understand rape culture, but apparently their words were not enough to stop Damon from sharing another cringey remark. In a new interview with Business Insider posted today to promote his film Downsizing (which may have been conducted before the backlash), Damon had this to say about the sexual assault discussion in the news and industry:
We're in this watershed moment, and it's great, but I think one thing that's not being talked about is there are a whole sh*tload of guys—the preponderance of men I've worked with—who don't do this kind of thing and whose lives aren't going to be affected.
And he added:
If I have to sign a sexual-harassment thing, I don't care, I'll sign it. I would have signed it before. I don't do that, and most of the people I know don't do that.
Evan Rachel Wood tweeted every woman's response to Damon's new comments:
Oh. My. God. Stop talking. https://t.co/vy30IpHjks
