Park Street in Gardens – you know the one? It’s a bustling little street with a lively bunch of restaurants and this is where Mano A Mano recently opened. Here’s what you need to know according to ELLE’s deputy editor Jenna Robbertse

Mano

1. It’s comfortable, laidback and friendly.

2. Unlike its sister restaurant in Green Point, this one serves breakfast, from French toast dripping with maple syrup to healthy and traditional options.

3. The service is great. Nice touch: your bag will be hung from a MANO A MANO bag holder and clipped onto your table.

4. The crème brulee is well worth the calories and is the perfect end to any meal.

5. The menu is big and invites experimentation. Kingklip done in the pizza oven? Why not? By the way, the thin-base wood-fired pizza is to die for.

6. There’s outside seating for warm evenings, and a fireplace inside for chilly nights.

7. It’s a great people-watching spot, so get there early. Bookings are only available at lunchtime. At night, it’s first come, first served.

8. It’s for everyone – really. Take the kids, the family or opt for a first date here. Anything goes at MANO A MANO.

9. We’re in Cape Town – no need to dress up, jeans and heels will do!

10. The food is consistently delicious and won’t break the bank.
