LOVE ON THE STREETS

This week, ELLE Style Reporter in association with BlackBerry Trevor Stuurman took inspiration from our big love issue (on shelf now). He says:

‘The ELLE Style Reporter in association with Blackberry mentorship programme with Sharp Sharp photographer Ed Suter kicked off this past week. My time with Ed was a fruitful one as he showed me the ropes of streetstyle photography. Inspired by the Febuary issue, Ed and I hit the streets of Cape Town to find out what people loved about what they were wearing. The Adderley Street flower market was the perfect backdrop. There’ just something romantic about it. So here are the looks we loved, and the answers to the question, “What do you love about your look?”.’

Hlomi Jack

‘I love the mixture of feminine and masculine. This is an affordable outfit – nothing costs over R50 except for the shoes which were a gift.’

‘I love insects, especially the shape of wings. The moment I laid my eyes on this necklace, it was love at first sight. My dress is vintage and I love the softness and colour of it.’

‘I love the marriage of all the various textures, from the lacy bustier to the wrinkled effect on my blouse and the rope neckpiece. The floral print brings life to the entire outfit as it adds great detail.’

‘I love that the dress was my mother’s, way back in the 70’s, and that it’s still relevant today. It has simplicity with detail and primary colours.’
