An overachiever, that’s what Lena Dunham is. At only 26, she is the creator, writer, director and star of Girls, the most-talked-about series on TV right now.

If you still haven’t watched the show (seriously, where have you been?), it’s about the lives and loves of four young women living in New York City.

Unlike other sitcoms that chronicle the lives of women, Girls is both funny and realistic in the way that it captures the characters’ lives as they navigate their 20s when they’re expected to act like adults but sometimes feel like confused kids.

Girls premiered early this year and has already earned Lena four Emmy nominations for writing, acting and directing the series.

The talented, witty and accomplished It-girl also wrote, directed and starred in an indie film, Tiny Furniture, which won the New Generation Award at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards and the Independent Visions Award at the Sarasota Film Festival in 2010. The film also won the Best First Screenplay Award at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2011. She has also landed her first fashion magazine cover for ASOS clothing this month.

And if that’s not enough, it was reported last week that bidding by publishers for her book of autobiographical essays, Not That Kind of Girl, reached $3.6 million.
