Our March issue, on shelf today, is all about being daring and different, plus there’s a special Fashion at Work section with beauty tips, easy office hairstyles and new ways to dress for success.

‘I want to be remembered as brave.’

March Cover

Fitting words from cover girl, Lady Gaga, on the cover of our Fearless issue. She is bold, daring and goes where no-one else has gone before, including a very intimate interview on page 42. And her style? We absolutely LOVE it!

Loud prints, over the top hats and bold moves in black and white are some of the reasons Lady Gaga is a fashion icon. Here, Gaga fan and ELLE fashion assistant Tarryn Oppel tells us more.

HATS OFF TO LADY GAGA

‘Birds, telephones, buttons – Lady Gaga’s hats are nearly always outlandish and somewhat bizarre. What I do fancy though, are her more minimalist (if I dare use that word to describe her style) choices in headgear. My favourite one so far was the navy-and-white striped mini-brimmed hat – it’s a classic! And the sunhat made from blonde hair is ingenious.’

PRINTS

‘There’s never anything subdued about Lady Gaga’s wardrobe choices, but one thing she knows how to do just right is a print – oversized, abstract or clashing. I personally prefer her in prints: she instantly looks more sophisticated. Love it!’

GO BOLD – MONOCHROME

‘Monochrome is a classic, but that doesn’t mean Miss Gaga’s going to keep it simple. I absolutely love her take on the houndstooth print – it was an overload, of course, but totally tied in with her style: she even had a houndstooth tattoo on her leg! She wears a tuxedo with ruffles, turns what might have been a Chanel-inspired skirt suit turned into a gown, and her classic leather jacket gets a touch of bling! How very Gaga of her…’
