We asked you via Facebook and Twitter to name the South Africans who inspire you. Then we asked them who inspires them. Here, as promised in our March issue, is the first of our 10-part online series, ‘Who Inspires the Inspiring’.

BONANG

First up, we have Bonang Matheba, TV presenter/radio DJ: ‘I’m inspired most by my mother, Charlotte Mokoena. She has worked so hard to get us out of poverty and has remained as loving and as graceful as ever. I absolutely love her. Everything I know I was taught by her and I’ve watched her become a very successful executive. She’s my fire.’

nombulelo on 2/14/2012: inspired by Bonang too,but mostly by her mother becoz she was a nurse and I'm one too as well as a fashion designer.Still working my way up and somehow have found a balance betwn the two professions.Your success mean that I too can do it.
