The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa held its second annual Gala on Saturday 20th of February 2016. Presented by Standard Bank Wealth and Investment, the black-tie event, which was held at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront was attended by over 500 people, including leaders in art and business from Africa and around the world.
The primary purpose of the event was to celebrate the creative industries of our continent and support Zeitz MOCCA’s mission to create access for all into the museum. Part of the proceeds from the gala will also go towards supporting the newly launched Costume Institute at the Museum.
The event was attended by A-listers such as Terry Pheto, Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Jo-ann Strauss, ambassador of Azzedine Alaïa, Sayora Grigorian, and also included a performance by Cape Town-raised, London-based singer and producer Petite Noir.
