Jo’burg fashion assistant Leigh Peinke is no stranger to trawling the malls, stores and hotspots of Jozi to find the perfect product to feature in our fashion pages. Sourcing product is fun, but it’s also gruelling work. Finding the perfect fashion items means in and out of the car, dropping, fetching and searching, so this time around Leigh decided to take a short cut with Zebra Cabs. Zebra Cabs are super efficient, the drivers are well informed and a pleasure to ride with, and get you from A to B safely and cost-effectively.

Our first stop was Suzaan Heyns’ flagship store in the new Melrose Arch shopping district. This store is worth a visit, not only because we love Suzaan’s designs, but her store features beautiful furniture and objects. She also offers an exclusive range of Céline, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen sunglasses, and jewellery by Sorbeit and Ivka Cica.

Then it was off to Sandton City where Timothy waited patiently while I sourced product from Zara. Here’s what we saw, loved and took back to the fashion closet!

How amazing are these heels and clutch bag from Zara’s limited edition range? Yes, these two are in-store, so go get them!

We moved on towards Milpark and stopped at 44 Stanley where we popped into Upstairs Jozi to admire the new Aztec and neon summer range. Next stop was Tiaan Nagel’s beautiful store, followed by a badly needed coffee at Bean There. If you don’t know by now, we have a soft spot for their amazing coffee, roasted to perfection every time!

All then it was time to get back to the office, to unpack, repack and send our fashion finds to ELLE’s Cape Town office to be styled and shot! Yep, all that in a day’s work!
