Whether it’s for the music, fashion or celeb-spotting, or all of the above, Coachella remains one of the hottest festivals on the calendar. Brimming with super-cool parties, some by invite others open to the public, here’s our pick of the spaces and places not to miss. Don’t forget to pack your wide-brimmed hat, shades and fave dance-ready ensembles
Looking for a mind switch ‘ushering an oasis of meditation and celestial beatmaking’? Then Desert Gold has your name written all over it. Open to the public, but you must RSVP, it is the eight-annual Desert Gold bash, where you can expect some unique experiences as hosted by David Lynch Foundation and Moog. Ace Hotel, 701 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
VESTAL VILLAGE CAMPING PARTY
This is glamping with a difference, because here pets are welcome. With two outdoor stages, giving music lovers fresh new beats, a host of to-dos whether you wish to unwind by the daytime bars or pop-up restaurants, or experience the outdoors hippie-chic style through hiking, horseback riding and fishing, this is your space. Hosted on private property and by invite only.
Don’t worry, we are not confusing things with Burning Man, but Base Camp is offering an RV and tent camping party for us all. Located just 10 kilometres south of the Empire Polo Field, on a 40-acre property, you can reserve a spot for your pick of camping gear (an extra-large tent for max wardrobe space?) and go wild. Private Compound, at the intersection of Jackson and 61st Street in Indio.
There’s no smarter way to remain top-of-mind than by establishing a brilliantly fashion-rich alliance between two global brands: H&M and Coachella. For the seventh year in a row, as sponsor of Coachella, the incredible collab means H&M installations are dotted throughout the festival grounds, taking party goers on a magical journey with video sets that can be shared online. And we love this because it is open to the fashion-, music- and festival-loving public. Empire Polo Club, 81-800 Avenue 51, Indio
CALVIN KLEIN'S CK DESERT EXPERIENCE
A two-day desert bash, featuring live performances, games, food trucks and other surprise. This is for the fashion fam, where some of the most coveted Instagram images are born, and (sadly) by invite only.
And now for something a little different: Barry’s Bootcamp is a pop-up fitness experience for two days, and promises the ultimate workout session in the world… to a live DJ, so you know you won’t be missing a beat/step. A special bootcamp kit is required and it is open to the public, but reservations are essential. The Saguaro, 1800 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
