Sleek and Sassy
The heritage check makes a strong reprisal, but, with a fresh urban twist, it discards all notions of being conservative. This checked blazer, modelled by environmental law graduate Mimi Mvakali, makes for a powerful outerwear piece with its bold silhouette.
She pairs it with casual, leather leggings with a slight stretch for comfort, a classic white tee with a curved shirt tail, a sling-back bootie, and a trendy oval shaped pouch. Mimi uses the pouch to make a statement by cinching it at the waist.
The Timeless Classic
Black never goes out of style, really. Consulting firm intern Savannah Meadows uses this season’s power palette of black and grey marle. She is also styled in authoritative outerwear pieces, a double-breasted blazer and a refined line lapel coat.
The pants are accented with a belt buckle and worn with lightweight knit with a roll neck and an elegant shirt tail. This ensemble is great for an elegant autumn look. The Cassandra earrings add a final touch of sophistication.
This fitted coat is softened with a finely pleated, polka dot, flowing dress. The stylish coat is so versatile, it will last for seasons to come. Fourth year law student Kim Slaffa uses the grey to lift the deep emerald tones.
She wears the striking Giselle ankle boots to complete her ultra-feminine profile.
This season’s power palette can be worn head to toe just as investment banker Kelly van Weren does. She pairs an extra length-jumper with a soft pleated skirt. The different textures pull the overall look together and, worn with statement boots, make for a sophisticated appearance.
The boots can be worn two ways, scrunched down or pulled up, making them ideal for trans-seasonal dressing.
Layers are all the rage as winter draws closer. Lifestyle blogger and entrepreneur Minky Mothabela wears a funnel neck laced top paired with a faux fur gilet, a deep green satin skirt and suede boots to complete a tonal look.
Her statement, tortoise shell earrings easily transition from day to night.
