There really is nothing like the feeling you get after helping someone – whether at an orphanage or retirement home, braving the cold to help out at a soup kitchen or getting your hands dirty with some much-needed manual labour. It’s good to know that there are still do-gooders out there who are rallying together to make the world a better place, one deed at a time.

Cheesekids for Humanity is one such group of dedicated young South Africans focused on lending their hands to making other people’s lives better. They do everything from Habitat for Humanity builds to clothing and blanket collection drives and school painting days. Zuzi Seoka is a Cheesekid guardian in Cape Town (guardians make up the core team of volunteers in every city) and has nothing but great things to say about the benefits of volunteering: ‘Volunteering is so good for the soul. Not only do you get to spread some love and positively impact other people’s lives, but you get to form new bonds with people you may not have met otherwise.’

If you would like to find out more about volunteering in your city, contact Cheesekids here and sign up to receive information on upcoming events or register to join their mailing list. Find Cheesekids on Facebook (facebook.com/cheesekids) and Twitter (@cheesekids) and join the movement.
