Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Are Close to Finalizing Their Divorce

A little less than a year after they announced their split, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum's divorce is almost legally finalized, according to E!. The two will go through a "case resolution conference" that will help them expedite their settlement; according to documents E! obtained, the two of their lawyers will meet ahead of time to "discuss what each person is asking for in the case, solve financial issues and determine whether or not they will be requesting expert witnesses." Then they'll meet in front of a judge "to determine if or when their divorce will be settled."

Tatum and Dewan are seeking shared joint and legal custody of their daughter Everly. E! additionally got a statement from Dewan's lawyer Samantha Spector on their eagerness to finish the settlement. "We look forward to resolving these matters in a timely and straightforward way," Spector said. "Nothing in the world matters more to Jenna than the comfort and well-being of her daughter Everly. Everything Jenna has done and will continue to do is with that in mind."

Dewan and Tatum remain friendly, although both have moved on romantically. Tatum is dating singer Jessie J, while Dewan is with Broadway star Steve Kazee. Last May, Dewan talked about her and Tatum's relationship post-split in an interview with HarpersBazaar.com.

She and Tatum have "a new normal where there is a lot of love," she said. "We’re just getting used to it [co-parenting and our new life]. We're in a very positive energy together, trying to be the best parents to Everly. We support each other."

Tatum and Dewan announced their split last April after nine years of marriage. Dewan filed for divorce in October.
