Congratulations to Nthabi Sibanda who’s been named a finalist in the 2012 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards. Nthabi, who runs Puo Educational Products, which produces educational content for children, now stands a chance to become one of six laureates who will benefit from business coaching, networking opportunities and funding in the amount of US$ 20 000.

Last year, ELLE reported on Lorna Rutto, who was a winner for the Sub-Saharan region. Now we’re holding thumbs that Nthabi will emulate her success.

Puo Education Products produces educational content for print and digital platforms that promotes Africa’s heritage and languages. Go to their website to find out more, and shop for clothing with the ‘I love Africa’ slogan in a variety of languages, and guides that will teach you the basics of several official South African languages including Sesotho, isiZulu and isiXhosa.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards are presented annually to female entrepreneurs in order to support creative, financially sustainable start-ups across a broad spectrum of industries. Regional winners will be announced on 11 October at the annual global meeting of the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society in Deauville, France.
