Hilton July 17, 2012 I love fashion. I would absolutely love to witness what our designers have to offer. I am sure that it is going to be a feast for the eyes. Mmangwedi Masola July 17, 2012 I have never been to a fashion week before and I have been to visit CT once for a week and I felt more like a resident than an explorer. I die to see the risks that fashion designers take and the masterpieces produced when when risk turns into victory. To be in the cocoon of your design studio while trying to stay true to your art and take into consideration your audience must be the most exciting and nerve wrecking of experiences. I want to to be there when all the butterflies have come to life in full colour!!! I would love to be at CTFW!!!! Tshepang Modisane July 17, 2012 I would love to attend Mercedes Benz Fashion Week because I have never attended Fashion week before so this would be my first time experiencing this event. Not only will I see the beautiful garmets that our local designers have created but I will also be exposed to the bigger picture of the Fashion & Media industry. To me an event such as Fashion Week not only showcases the clothes as fashion but also as an art. Attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town will be my way of showing my Appreciation for South African Art, Fashion & Design. Sandra Mukasa July 17, 2012 ‘fashion is my drug’ enough said! I would be honoured to attend a show at the fashion week cticc. I love fashion, i love elle magazine and i’m in love with south africa. What better way to appreciate such a combination but to be at this awesome event! What an amazing unforgettable experience it would be! Trevor Stuurman July 17, 2012 Fashion is something that is very personal, I live, love and own it. Each day we presented with the oppurtunity to entertain and enlighten others through fashion and style. Please award me with the wonderful oppurtunity of being part of one of Africa`s mbiggest fashion event. For the love of Fashion Trevor Stuurman Sue Levy July 17, 2012 Would absolutely love to win, keen to blog about the event and celebrate everything great about SA fashion! Sinead Martin July 17, 2012 After traveling through Europe over the last month it’ll be great to get back down to my South African roots and rediscover the awesome creations and designers that our shores produce! Tribal may be a current trend on the international stage but no one quite gets its authenticity like our designers do! Tshepang Modisane July 17, 2012 I have never been to MBFWCT before and I would love to experience seeing our local designers showcase their art. I see MBFW as an Appreciation of Art, Design and Fashion. I too want to Appreciate local talent and I would love to be exposed to the Fashion & Media industry of South Africa Sne Ndlovu July 17, 2012 Finally, the CTFW has arrived! I have been keen to attend this fashion event ever since I bought my first issue of ELLE magazine 3 years ago. Unfortunately, as a Durbanite high school student at the time, the distance and time denied me the chance to attend. But, now that I live in South Africa’s fashion capital, I’m a UCT Media and English undergraduate with the hopes of becoming a fashion journalist. And, more recently, I have taken to the blogosphere as a means to gain and share fashion experiences, and especially to introduce the rest of the world to the up and coming talent that our South African designers possess. Attending the CTFW would be an amazing experience that not only I can gain expertise from, but that would help launch me in the right direction in introducing and praising, across cyber-boarders, the South African designers’ efforts Sne Ndlovu July 17, 2012 Finally, the CTFW has come around! I have been very interested in attending this event ever since I picked up my first issue of ELLE magazine 3 years ago. But, due to the unfortunate circumstance of being a Durbanite matric student at the time, the distance and time went against my favour. But, now that I’ve relocated to SA’s fashion capital, as a UCT Media and English student with the hopes of becoming a fashion journalist, I am hoping to finally get the opportunity to spectate the country’s heralded fashion event. And as an amateur fashion blogger, this event would provide valuable fashion expertise that can not only educate me, but also introduce the world to the up and coming, and worthy of international acclaim, South African designers Lesego Madisa July 17, 2012 I am absolutely in love with fashion and it’s always great to see SA designers showcasing their talent. I adore KLuK CDGT. Watching fashion shows on tv and being in awe is one thing but actually seeing it live would be mind blowing! This one opportunity that cannot pass me by! Which hopefully one day I can use to empower woman! That aside – I am not a top blog, fashion blogger or someone you may feel ” is the right fit” – but I am a passionate Elle purchaser ( never miss a copy), shoe lover and ‘ blow my salary on all things fashionably fashionable’ and would just love the opportunity to well be at the ‘must be event’ of the year – so please please make a girls heart happy – promise you won’t be sorry Mariza July 17, 2012 Pick me!!!! Still today that desire hasn’t changed and now I love sharing it with family and friends* I think all the girls wearing those beautiful clothes are absolutely gorgeous and I would love to share this special day with them and celebrate the designers talents as well *every girl loves beautiful clothes and what more to experience it at such a fabulous event!* love Natassja Natasha Clark July 18, 2012 I have never been to Fashion Week I would LOVE to go. As a young mom of two gorgeous boys, -it’s so easy to get stuck in a rut with clothing and to lose your sense of fashion and individuality. Your me-ness. I really want an evening just for *ME* and to introduce myself back to the world of glamour and beauty. Much needed. Danielle July 18, 2012 I love Cape Town Fashion Week! Would be so amazing to be right there in the front row, getting to see all the action and what our amazing local talent can produce! I would love to be apart of all it! xx Zukie Ntsomboyi July 18, 2012 After seeing what Capetownians can do when it comes to street fashion on the Design Indaba Expo early this year it would be such an honour to attend the Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week and I’ve never been to the show. MBCFW is one of the biggest fashion weeks in Mzansi every fashion fundi will be there and with such powerful and talented South African designers that would be showcasing their spring/summer collections one can’t afford not to attend. lorraine alagasen July 18, 2012 I would love to attend the mercedes benz fashion week in capetown Mainly becos I am a south africian designer who specialise in haute coutoure Beign there would be an advantage to my talent to interact with so many other talented designers South africian designers really need the scope to promote their work not only local but aboard. It would really make a huge difference to my collection Very especially interacting with other designers creativity Ashlynn July 18, 2012 We need to start taking our local fashion weeks as serious as we do international ones. Our designers are just as talented and have to work twenty times harder for half the recognition… P.S I’m so excited at the thought of all the possible “clothesgasms” Bianca July 18, 2012 There are few occasions where an everyday fashion lover can attend an internationally recognized fashion event. Cape Town Fashion Week is one one them. I’ve saved my pennies every year for a seat at a show and hope that even though finances are tight this winter, I’ll still get a chance to don my fashionable best! Elle Mlati July 19, 2012 There’s a significant amount of talent here in South Africa which has triggered my aspiration to learn about the arts through experience. And this experience would be witnissing the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show live. As an undergraduate student at UCT, I’m extremely passionate about photography and will appreciate the aesthetic value of the show. I’m also searching for fresh inspiration for my next photography project as fashion photography is one of my main areas of interest. I’m also quite an ELLE mag geek so going to the show will just make me a happy person for a very long time!:) Elle Mlati July 19, 2012 There’s a significant amount of talent here in South Africa which has triggered my aspiration to learn about the arts through experience. Ive never ever been seated to just watch a fashion show nor have I seen any of which ive interned for due to the how hectic backstage can get. Now because ive started my corporate career, I dont even have the chance to work at any fashion shows. This would be a great opportunity to be seated as a guest and for once click my camera away in awe of the great garments that make their way down the runway. I would die for the tickets. regards. Busisiwe July 19, 2012 I love fashion and I’ve only ever seen a fashion show on FTV on DSTV. It would be even better to see the best in SA talent (new and old) live in my home town thebe molatelo July 20, 2012 I would love to enhance on my fashion photography skills especially on the Thula Sindi and Ruald Rheeder’s combined show.I think its gona be a fast paced “camera, light, fashion” for the photographers.A passionate photographer s dream! Tyron July 20, 2012 I would love to attend MBFWCT 2012 as I believe this year has shown a tremendous growth in African Prints and African inspired garments and Cape Town is definitely a place where designers and fashion lovers experiment the most with dress sense. I would love to go to Thula Sindi and Ruald Rheeder’s combined show. The countdown begins. Thandeka Dladla July 23, 2012 I have been doing a degree in Financial management which has imparted so much to my knowledge and finaly this year I’m completing but instead of looking for a job like any graduate would do I’m persuing my passion of love for fashion and clothes. My ultimate goal is to start and operate a clothing factory(and produce clothes locally). My immediate goal is to get as much exposure into the fashion industry……plus I would just die to be there!!!! Lindy Mayisela July 23, 2012 As an amateur fashion blogger and aspiring fashion designer, an opportunity like this would be beyond amazing. Being able to see what our local designers are going to showcase, will give me a better understanding of fashion. Not only in the form of a garment but in the forrm of art as an expression and design, as well as a better understanding of trends to come in the next season. Added to this, it has become very evident to my knowledge that local designers lack support from South Africans. It would bring much joy to me to see what these designers have created. Not only because of the purpose of what is aesthetically pleasing to the human eye but further and beyond that, it is an act of showing love ans support for our local designers. I can only imagine that this would develop my knowledge on each designer’s craftsmanship. I would love to be a part of that experience.
