It’s a dream that many a famous fashion designer will never see fulfilled: laying eyes on a top A-list celeb sporting one of their signature pieces. But for KISUA director Samuel Mensah, this dream came true last weekend when no less a fashion icon than Beyonce was spotted wearing the label’s stylish Daria Coat.

Stepping out in style at the premiere of Annie, Queen Bey, accompanied by Blue Ivy and Jay Z, wore the statement cropped-sleeved coat, paired with a black fedora and lattice heels. This gorgeous piece, part of the KISUA Hariri collection, features a futuristic geometric print inspired by the Burundian artist Serge Alain Nitegeka’s architectural installations.

KISUA, an innovative digital platform which offers exclusive contemporary African clothing to European markets through a vast online boutique, is making a name for itself as a purveyor of fine fashion. And, on the heels of this exciting occurrence, their profile is bound to rise.

The brand strives to provide a platform for the continent’s brightest design talent by selling high-end limited edition wares from the KISUA Hariri collection, as well as items from KISUA Collaborates, capsule collections which KISUA develop in association with various African designers.

We love that the site also features an online magazine full of amazing Afropolitan trends. And it looks like their mission, to educate the world about what African style entails, is well on its way to fruition: where Queen Bey treads, many are bound to follow.
