So, last week we announced our top eight, very talented ELLE Rising Star Design Award in association with Mr Price finalists here. This week we take the time to get to know each finalist a little better! First up, we meet Cape Town based CPUT student Jacqueline Le Grange:

I can't start the day without…

A quick Pinterest session with a strong cup of coffee in hand (do follow Jacqueline on Pinterest, we like what we see!).

One thing we need to know about you as a designer?

I am creative, ambitious, and driven to be successful and make my mark in the fashion industry.

Petrichor – ‘My concept is based on the enchanted romance of a young woman, a complete and hopeless romantic motivated by nature and its significant beauty. This collection aims to bring out characteristics of hope, joy and enchantment with a touch of vibrant sophistication. It is a modern take on the traditional quilting and floral print concept for the young at heart, sophisticated and modern woman who still believes in fairy-tale romance.’

If your collection had to have a theme song, what would it be?

The intro from the band "The XX" debut Album "XX" (2009 - 2011)

If you could dress any celeb for a red carpet event, who would it be?

That's tough, there are so many! Let's go with the beautiful and elegant Marion Cotillard.

My own style is…

Easy chic. I'm always on the run so I need to be comfortable at all times, yet sophisticated.

Favourite fashion moment in a film?

Audrey Hepburn starring in Breakfast at Tiffany’s dressed in her simple yet elegant black sheath dress, gloves, pearls and diamonds and that lovely up-do!

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

There's always room for improvement.

Name one thing about yourself that we don't know

I am a wanderer, but not lost, just seeking inspiration in the world as I go along.
