The art of braiding is nothing new, but with new hairstylists emerging everyday on social media the game is ever-changing. Even the most seasoned braiders can take inspiration from the new social-fluent young guns. GuinGui has been braiding for over fifteen years but still turns to the new wave of talent on Instagram and YouTube to spark her own creativity. "There are some people who are taking braids to a whole other level," says GuinGui, who has seen braids that turn into full sculptures and cornrow mohawks on a few of her favorite accounts like @braidzillasheffield and @efidavies. With endless creative energy flowing, it's hard for GuinGui to pick just a few cornrow trends she loves. Currently, GuinGui is all about the baby hairs, but she also recommends a few styles— like cartwheel cornrows and unicorn braids—from a few other talented braiders.

BraidZilla's bio reads: "here to create the crowns and kings and queens deserve." Her timeless hairstyles include intricate details and designs and her latest post put a premium on updos.
